MEXico Restaurant Opening

Last week I was invited to the opening event for MEXico in Maidstone. It's about time Maidstone had some spicing up. Often enough I go to Maidstone and the restaurants are all the same. This is a great new addition with its vibrant look and delicious food.

Inside you are met with vibrant colours and fun decor. All of which was sourced from Mexico. It really adds to this restaurants atmosphere of bringing Mexico to you.

From Mexican papers to art from Mexican artists it's all here to add to the Mexican feel. It is all part of what makes it feel authentic. It has a laid back fun feel that makes you forget everything and relax.

They've got a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. I mean it wouldn't have that fiesta feel without the cocktails. My favourite one was the Tropical Margarita.

They are great teamed with their truly deliciously gorgeous food. That brings a party to your mouth. Prior to this I hadn't really had Mexican food. They've won me round with mouthfuls of flavour. Guacamole is perhaps my new favourite thing.

Both the meat and vegetarian options tasted amazing and left me wanting more. With each bite I couldn't wait to taste something else. I'll be going back that's for sure.

The dessert was just as flavourful and who can resist a brownie, well I can't. There were churros too, which were too yummy.

This a vibrant and fun place whether you're getting the family together, out on a date or catching up with friends, it's the place to go. Grab a cocktail and start your night of right. Get yourself down to Maidstone and try the true taste of Mexico, you won't be disappointed.

Evolution of McDonald's *Sponsored Post*

McDonald's is a brand we all know and love. If you don't love it I recommend you retry it, as they've made a few changes. Their logo is not something you can miss. There's a familiarity to it that brings a smile to your face.  I remember going when I was younger and getting a happy meal. How times have changed. Through the years McDonald's has evolved to become so much more. On Tuesday I was invited to McDonald's in Aylesford. It is one of the stores of the future.

For them, it's all about quality food and customer experience. They're always keen to get feedback and  they've really taken it on board.

Part of McDonald's evolution is their use of technology. With Tablets for you or your kids to enjoy. Have something to eat whilst browsing the net or playing a game. They've also introduced self-service kiosks. I love these kiosks. In a rush then order and wait for your number. If not order it to your zone and get it brought to your table. No need to wait in a queue when sitting in. Perfect if you've got kids.

Another great part about the Kiosk is it allows you to customise your order. You can see all the elements of your meal, and take out what you don't like. Along with this, you can select your side. I didn't know this, but if you don't want chips you have other options.

The look and design of McDonald's feel so fresh and modern. They've incorporated bits of the outdoors bringing them in. It feels so open and spacious with a friendly atmosphere. They've got a range of zones for you to sit in. They've got a kids and family area so you can feel at home with an outdoor play area.

The second part of McDonald's evolution is their revolutionised kitchen. They've invested in specially designed equipment to get the best out of their product. They've changed the layout so that food isn't just waiting at the front.
Food is freshly made and assembled by working from the front to the back of the kitchen. It is then put on a conveyor that takes it all the way to the front. It is all very efficient.

The food that UK stores use is sourced in the UK. It is part of what makes them such good quality. They are also started to add a new signature range which offers thicker burgers. To find out more and see where you can get yours visit their website.

Whilst at the event I got my own honorary McDonald's uniform. Complete with a name badge that even had my blog name on it which I got to take home.

Whilst at the event we got to make our own Big Mac's. Watch my vlog to see me make mine.

Blog Ashford

Blog Ashford was a great all day event. It was to celebrate the fabulous  independent shops in Ashford. It was a chance to see the shops and meet the people behind them.

First stop was Stag Coffee. The perfect place for a meet and great. There hot chocolate and salted caramel are to die for. It's a place when you'd escape the cold with a book or just to sit and enjoy a drink and some food.

Next up was Snap Jewellery. It's not your average Jewellery shop. This jewellery has a great concept behind it. It's all in the snap. You pick your piece of jewellery and then one of the many charms. There's a wide range which snap on and off to suit your mood and outfit. It's not just jewellery either, you can get notebooks, cards and even wedding invites and other pieces.

Happy & Glorious is a cute shop which has a range of homely pieces. From arts and crafts, candles, beauty,  home and jewellery  bits.

Tucked away is this cute tea shop called The Little Teapot. It's a quaint little place to go. It's has pastel coloured polka dot tablecloths and pretty decor.

Emporia Fabric and Craft is the place to go for fabric and all things craft. Which is all in the name.

Lastly Made in Ashford. It's owned by a mix of local people. They create their own things which they then sell in the shop.

Overall it was a great day.  Whilst I couldn't stay for the whole time I had a lovely time and I'll be going back. If you haven't been get down to Ashford and see this little piece of magic.

Rye and Camber

This post is a little overdue but better late than never. A while ago Ian and I went to stay near rye. It was nice getting away to the coast. We needed some time to just relax and think about nothing. To just live in the moment with no worries.

We took a walk through the cobbled streets and looked in shops and got sweets.
We had rosy apples and cola bottles and browsed vinyl. Until we decided it was time to eat.

We got fish and chips which we took to the beach. We sat at camber and ate our dinner as the sun starting going down. It was nice to feel relaxed and enjoy each others company. It was the perfect staycation. Sometimes staycations are the best.

Autumn has to be one of, if not my favourite season.

The crisp air with the warmth of the day. The sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet.
Oh, Autumn... how I love you.

The technicolour leaves and the rainy days. A reason to curl up with a blanket and enjoy a film, whilst  the rain falls. If there's not a better reason to adorn socks, boots and raincoats I don't know what is.

The warm hues of your season give me a warmth and a feeling of home. Taking me back to my childhood of long country walks and sitting in front of a wood burner whilst falling asleep. Where wearing wellington boots and throwing leaves in the air with not a care in the world is all you can do.

Autumn you are the best.

You bring me joy and warmth. With yummy meals that the season calls for and the long awaited stew.  The sweet smell of baking and taste of hot chocolate is all I can think of. You bring with you a sense of ease and a time to make  a change. For me, you are the mark in the year to dispell all the bad things. To move forward and do what makes me happy.

You bring Halloween and Fireworks and you bring families together.
You give me a reason to wrap up warm and wear a hat, scarf and gloves. You are the reminder that Christmas is not far and that it will soon be the festive season. You are the last hug of the year. A reminder that the year is drawing to a close.

To me you are perfect.

Quay Australia

Never really having put much thought into buying sunglasses meant spending very little. It meant I didn't need to take care of them as they could be replaced. I've always been one to take care of my things and why should it be different with my sunglasses?

That's when I realised I needed to find a pair I loved. Scouring the internet for the perfect pair that didn't cost a fortune. I am a girl on a budget after all.

I found these beauty's on ASOS and when I saw them I knew, I had to have them. At £30 they are a steal. They are simple yet stylish and I love them. They go with everything. I couldn't get enough of them so decided I needed another pair.

The ASOS sale was in full swing when I came across these bad boys. Another pair of stylish Quay Australia sunnies. These have a different look entirely. They are strong, bold and stylish and make me feel a little edgy. I love that Quay Australia is a cool and quirky brand. They've got an effortless feel that goes with multiple looks.

I don't think I've ever been in love with a brand this much before. I think it may become a little addiction of mine. I've already seen the next pair I want to get my hands on.

If you're not already a fan then go take a look.
You won't regret it.

Wagamama's My Favourite Place To Eat

Wagamama's is one of my favourite places to eat. When it first hit the restaurant scene Ian and I weren't sure and did't think we'd like it. It's took us a while before we eventually decided to give it a go. Since then we haven't really looked back.

Their food is so flavourful and tasty. I don't know what it is about it but I can't get enough. I eat every day if I could. That may sound a bit extreme but genuinely I would eat it most days if I could. Saying that though it probably wouldn't be as great if I had it all the time.

There is something so indulgent about the food. It's full of warm and comforting feeling that makes me want to go back for more. When we decide to go out for dinner there it brings a smile to my face as I know that I'm going to enjoy it. It really is such yummy food. I can't wait till the next time I go to eat there.

If you're haven't been before you should go check it out. You might be surprised.

Wish List Wednesday

With the last of the summer days approaching I am dreaming of the summer dresses and layers that will soon be worn.  This floaty red floral tea dress is gorgeous and perfect for taking from the summer to the autumn. Both the striped top and the AC/DC band tee are perfect pieces to take from summer to autumn. I can't resist a stripe or a band tee they're kind of my weakness.
I love the pins trend but have yet to buy any and this space themed ones are right up my street. Another trend I am loving is the choker trend and I have been looking for a sparkly one to add to my collection. This one is a contender and would look fab layered with other necklaces.
Lastly who doesn't love stationary or a journal. The print is cute and i love how the inside is laid out. Definitely going to be adding it to my shopping basket.
